Perugia loose 3-1 to Spirited Brescia&nbsp; <img border="0" src="http://www.persianleague.com/images/pic.gif">&nbsp;<img border="0" src="http://www.persianleague.com/images/video.gif">

PFDC - Perugia lost 3-1 against a spirited Brescia side in the match played at the Rigamonti Stadium. Brescia were clearly continuing their good spate of form that saw them hand Italian champions Juventus their first defeat of the season last Sunday, when Carlo Mazzone’s men defeat the Turin side 2-0. 

From the start it seemed that Brescia were keen on capitalizing on their good form and Perugia could do nothing to prevent yet another defeat away from the Renato Curi stadium. 

The game started on a slow pace, and there was little or no action before the half hour mark. Soon afterwards, two headers by Albanian international Igli Tare gave Brescia a two goal lead. The first header came after a close-range high ball from the left hand side: Rezaei, who was man marking Tare on the occasion, could do nothing to prevent the tall Tare to hit the ball with the forehead and strike the crossbar, before hitting the back of the net. On the second occasion, Di Loreto could do nothing to prevent Tare from touching an excellent Roberto Baggio freekick from the right hand side into the net. 

Perugia tried to react in the second half, and they bridged the gap early on when a series of ricoches ended with Perugia wonderkid Fabrizio Miccoli, arguably the shortest man on the pitch, heading the ball past Brescia keeper Matteo Sereni. But despite Perugia’s efforts to level the game, a Brescia counterattack at the 78th minute saw Di Loreto tackle Tare inside the Brescia box and concede a penalty, duly converted by Roberto Baggio to mark his 200th Serie A goal. 

Rahman Rezaei played the full game, and made the starting line up after a three match absence, two of which as a consequence of a direct red card received at the very end of the Bologna-Perugia game. He was somewhat at fault for Brescia’s first goal, as he was man-marking goal scorer Tare, but was blameless for the other Brescia goals. 

Perugia continue their mixed Serie A campaign, where good performances are contrasted by poor showings: up to now, the good performances have slightly outweighed the poor ones and coach Serse Cosmi has avoided the wrath of eccentric Perugia president Luciano Gaucci: but his time in charge of Perugia may be running short if what witnessed at the Rigamonti stadium today will be replicated often in the future.
