| PLDC - The top team of the Iranian Professional League in the first two weeks
of the tournament has done it again. In the home game against their home rivals, Fajr Shiraz managed to defeat Bargh Shiraz with the score of
1-0 in the third week of the league to hold on to the top position in the table without any threat from any other team for the present. The goal for Fajr was scored by Seyed Mehdi Hossieni in the 63rd minute. There were 3,000 spectators present at the stadium for the game. The game began on a cautious note by both sides and the first half was a balanced offensives and counters scenario. Bargh though was slightly more in control of the game but could not get any results. The second half was still the same until Fajr took advantage of an opportunity offered in the 63rd minute when they scored their goal. Bargh repeatedly tried to make a come back in the second half but the strength of the Fajr defense prevented any attacks. The referee of the match, Khodadad Afsharian, put on a good performance and reduced overall game tension. Fajr now possess 9 points out of a possible 9 in three weeks and have won all three matches.Behind them is Persepolis of Tehran with 7 points. |
