PTV - Croatian manager Luka
Bonacic has declared that Iranian soccer players are unique in Asia in terms
of creativity and talents.
“I am willing to coach in Iran because the country's soccer players are full
of individual techniques. I personally favor such football,” said Bonacic
who traveled to Iran to do some personal work on Thursday.
“You can never compare the abilities of Iranian soccer players with those of
Arab players,” he added.
Bonacic further explained that Arab countries have dramatically improved
their hardware facilities but the players are incomparable with the Iranian
ones.
The 53-year-old Croatian was highly successful with Iran's Sepahan of
Isfahan winning the Hazfi Cup (knockout competition) in 2006 and 2007. He
also managed to take Sepahan to the AFC Champions League final in 2007 but
lost to Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds 3-1 on aggregate.
Bonacic is currently coaching Al-Nasr club in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
