Iran's Esteqlal snatches Hazfi Cup

PTV - Iranian soccer team Esteqlal has won the prestigious Hazfi Cup with a 3-0 victory over Pegah Gilan in a breathtaking game in Tehran.

With the victory, the Blues will be one of the Iranian representatives in the next Asian Champions League.

Despite a 1-0 defeat in Gilan, the popular Tehran team edged out Pegah at home with Mahdi Amirabadi, Mojtaba Jabbari and Arash Borhani scores.

The game finished 1-0 in regular time and went into extra time. The do-or-die face-off drew 85,000 spectators to Tehran's gigantic 100,000-seater Azadi Stadium.

The Hazfi Cup is a knockout cup competition in Iranian football run by the Iranian Football Federation.
