Saba Battery Gun Down Pas

GOAL - Saba Battery clinched a narrow 1-0 win over Pas in the IPL on Friday. Adel Kolah Kaj’s solitary 55th minute strike was enough for third-placed Saba Battery to secure a valuable win.

In other matches, Esteghal and Saipa battled out a goalless draw in an ill-tempered match which saw both teams reduced to 10 men. Saipa skipper Ebrahim Sadequi was given his marching orders and Farhad Majidi was sent off for Esteghal.

Sepahan’s Brazilian coach Jorvan Vieira also saw red with the referee sending the former Iraq coach to the stands. The Hazfi Cup winners had to share a point with Fajr.

Esteghlal Ahvaz secured a 3-0 victory over Shirin Faraz.

Fifth-placed Abumoslem crashed to a 2-0 defeat to Sanat Naft as Amir Hossein Yousefi netted a brace to give his side the win while Peykan clinched a 1-0 win at Pegah.
