Iranian footballer Javad Nekounam named as best player

IRNA - Iranian midfielder Javad Nekounam was named as the best player of the day in today's match between Iran and China which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Nekounam scored the second goal for Iranian squad in the second half.

He was awarded with a special prize by the officials in charge of matches in group C.

Iran and China drew 2-2 on Sunday in Group C qualifying matches in 14th Asian Cup Championships in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.

Iran and China have four points each followed by Uzbekistan with three points while the host country Malaysia has obtained no points.
