HSV part company with Thomas Doll

HSV - HSV parted company with their head coach Thomas Doll, following the disappointing 1-1 home draw against Energie Cottbus on Wednesday evening (01.02.07), which saw HSV go bottom of the Bundesliga table: "It was a sad decision to make because we were sure that we would come out of our crisis with Thomas Doll in charge. But the impressions of our last two games forced us to make a move. We thank Thomas for his time at HSV and wish him all the best for the future", said the HSV boss Bernd Hoffmann.

"Of course I am very sad. I had a wonderful two and a half years at HSV. I hope that the team will drag themselves out of trouble", said Thomas Doll. The club has also parted company with Co. trainers Ralf Zumdick and Ronny Teuber. Michael Schröder will join the scouting department at the club. "We will have a new coach on the bench for our visit to Berlin on Saturday", assured Hoffmann.
