PLDC - In an interview conducted by Perspolis's official website, Karim Bagheri, the former National Team player and the current Perspolis player thanked Perspolis fans for giving unconditional support to the team throughout the years, and in particular, in the game against Esteghlal which resulted in the Reds 2-1 victory over their arch rivals. Bagheri told the website: "There are so many issues that can be discussed regarding the derby, but the point that needs to be brought up is the fact that our fans showed up not only to fill most of the sits in Azadi, but our fans behaved well and avoided any insults to any of the Esteghlal players or the referees, and their presence was a major factor behind our victory". The veteran continued by saying: "Perspolis fans kept their respect for Ali Ansarian, and never insulted this player who in the past years has worked so hard for Perspolis, but unfortunately, a few of Esteghlal fans chanted against Nikbakht-vahedi who is a former Esteghlal player." Regarding the game Bahgeri said: "We could have scored more goals but regardless, we deserved this victory and I congratulate the fans."
At the end, Bagheri stated that the game
against Esteghlal is now over and we must stay focus on our next game so we
can get even closer to the top of the league. |
