German sports weekly doubts whether Karimi can play at top int'l level

IRNA - Germany's renowned kicker sports magazine on Thursday seriously doubted whether Bayern Munich midfielder Ali Karimi will ever be able to play at the top international level following his woeful performance in his team's 4-0 friendly thrashing at Spanish football powerhouse FC Barcelona.

"Indeed one has to pose the question whether players like (Ali) Karimi, (Julio) Dos Santos or also (Martin) Demichelis -all of whom are not fit at the present time - will ever be able to reach the top international level," kicker wrote in its post-analysis of the Bayern-Barcelona match.

Karimi whose contract with Bayern expires at the end of this season, played 70 minutes in the Barcelona game and was replaced by German international Bastian Schweinsteiger.
