PFDC - GERMANY, Iran has been drawn into group
D alongside Mexico, Portugal and debutants Angola for the FIFA World Cup in
Germany next June.
Iran, drawn on slot 2 of the group, will first take on Mexico in Nurnberg on
June 11, before taking meeting Portugal in Frankfurt six days later. The
final match will be against Angola in Leipzig on June 21, exactly eight
years after Iran's historical first World Cup victory (2-1 over USA).
Should Iran advance from the group stage, Team Melli would face a team from
group C, including giants Argentina and the Netherlands, in second round.
