Daei double helps Saba past Sepahan

IRNA - National skipper Ali Daei hit his double to help Saba Battery win the visiting Sepahan 3-1 in the sixth week of the fifth Iran Pro League in Shahid Derakhshan Stadium, Sabashahr, Monday.

Veteran striker Daei canceled out Seyed Mehdi Seyed Salehi's second-minute opener when he scored the equalizer on 34 minutes by heading home a corner from Mohsen Soltani.

Daei celebrated his own and Saba's second goal five minutes after the interval as he cleared two markers before beating keeper Armenak Petrossian in a man-to-man challenge.

Saeid Daqiqi widened the gap in the 54th minute, fired home a superb pass from Daei.

Saba Battery stands in the 10th place with seven points and Sepahan moves to fourth spot on 12 points.
