IRNA - Iran has a "very big chance" to qualify for the 2006 World Cup in Germany, said the latest addition to the Iraniannational team, FC Kaiserslautern midfielder Ferydoon Zandi. "It will be lots of fun for me to play there (in Iran). Furthermore there is a very big chance for Iran to be at the World Cup 2006. If everything goes normal, we will make the qualification," Zandi told the online site of Der Spiegel magazine on Friday. "It`s the most beautiful thing for a footballer to play at the World Cup," he added. Iran is placed in Group B of the Asian zone with Japan, Bahrain and North Korea. The first two teams are directly qualified for the World Cup in Germany. The top goal scorer in Kaiserslautern with 4 goals and 4 assists, the 26-year-old Zandi has been nominated for Iran`s upcoming friendly match against Bosnia on February 2. |
