PLDC - Al Hussein SC staged a comeback to defeat Esteghlal FC 3–2 in the second leg of the AFC Champions League Two Round of 16, advancing 4–2 on aggregate to the quarter-finals.
Esteghlal started strongly and took an early lead through Jasir Asani from the penalty spot. The Jordanian side responded before halftime when Ali Hajabi headed home to level the match and move Al Hussein ahead on aggregate.
Asani scored again early in the second half to restore Esteghlal’s advantage, but Al Hussein fought back late. Substitute Yousef Abu Al Jazar equalized in the 76th minute, before Obieda Al Namarnah sealed the win in stoppage time.
Al Hussein now progress to the quarter-finals, where they will face either Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan SC or Al Ahli SC.
