AFC - THERE were no changes at the top of the Iranian Premier League standings after the latest round of matches as leaders Pas, second-placed Zob Ahan and third-placed Esteghlal all recorded victories. Pas maintained their two-point lead in the standings with a comfortable 2-0 win over Pegah. The Tehran side got a 38th minute opener from Khodadad Azizi and sealed the match 13 minutes after the break with a Mohsen Bayatinia strike. The victory lifted Pas to 30 points, two ahead of Esfahan side Zob Ahan who downed Peykan 1-0 courtesy of Ebrahim Taghipours 68th minute winner. Esteghlal are a further point adrift after second half goals by Amir Sadeghi and Reza Enayati earned the Tehran giants a 2-0 triumph over Bargh. Pirouzi did not fare as well as their Tehran rivals as they were held to a goalless draw by Abumoslem to drop five points behind Pas. Foolad downed Fajr Sepasi 3-0, while champions Sepahan defeated winless Saipa 2-1. Results |
