AFC- IRAN international
striker Vahid Hashemian scored his eighth goal of his German Bundesliga
campaign on Saturday when his seventh minute goal set VfL Bochum off to a
4-0 home win over Cologne.
Meanwhile, Hashemian’s international compatriot Mehdi Mahdavikia (pictured)
was also on target over the weekend, his 77th penalty goal for Hamburg SV
the perfect icing on the cake in a 3-1 home win over TSV 1860 Munich.
The results pushed Bochum to sixth on the table while Hamburg are aiming to
put behind their bad start to the season, Hamburg’s win on Saturday only
their third of the current campaign.
While Hashemian's red hot performances will put Iran in good stead should
the Middle East side win a place at next year's Asian Cup Finals,
Mahdavikia’s rejuvenated form at Hamburg will undoubtedly, add more options
to Iran’s already bulging attacking options.
