AsianFootball - Iran and Esteghlal left midfielder Alireza Vahedinikbakht has left for trials with Spanish club Atletico Madrid. The Madrid club was at one time interested in luring Iranian playmaker Ali Karimi to the club but after the collapse of that proposed deal, the Spanish club have now turned their eyes on yet another Persian talent, Alireza Vahedinikbakht. Vahedinikbakht kept the details of the deal close to his chest but revealed he is confident that the prospective move will materialize. He also added that Atletico had watched him on tape and said playing in Spain will make him a better player. "Believe me when I say that I don't know much about it myself," admitted Vahedinikbakht. "I only know that I have to go to Madrid with another person at 2:00 o'clock tomorrow morning and take part in the medical tests of Atletico de Madrid. "It seems that they have seen the films of Esteghlal and the National Team and have invited me on that basis.Yes, I had also said I did not want to go to Germany. I couldn't go to Italy, so Spain is just as good. "The aim is to make progress and this is possible in Spain."
