AFC - ACCORDING to a report on the Iran Sports Press, Iranian international midfielder Alireza Nikbakhtvahedi is known to be on his way to Turkey to iron out a possible deal with Istanbul club Fenerbahce. The Esteghlal playmaker had reportedly turned down a US$2 million offer from German club Shalke 04, a decision that could well see the player rejoin former Esteghlal coach Ronald Koch in Europe. Koch is currently serving as Assistant Coach under Christoph Daum at Fenerbahce and is confident the Iranian star possesses the ability to thrive in the Turkish league. Fenerbahce had recently finished sixth in the 2002/2003 Turkey league. |
