Saudis Al-Ittihad in the hunt of Croat Blazevic

MEF -  Croat globe-trotter Miroslav Blazevic is being tempted by Saudi league pace-setters Al-Ittihad, if to believe Tuesday’s edition of popular daily Al-Riyadh.

“He has already sent a comprehensive overview of his upcoming plans with the club, asking to be joined by 2 assistants having an in-depth experience at the age-limit squads level,” stated today’s editorial of the paper.

“Should everything went fine, Al-Ittihad would be signing him for the upcoming 2 seasons, Blazevic’ impressive record in the Gulf region being the main reason behind the club’s interest,” concluded Al-Riyadh.

Al-Ittihad have sacked Brazilian manager Oscar last month and appointed his assistant Pedro Sabinho on a care-taker basis, now that they have secured a berth in the last-four playoff stage for the championship league title.

Blazevic is no strange to the regional game in this part of the globe, having previously led Iran in the last World Cup qualifiers, and currently at the helm of Dinamo Zagreb, leaders of the Croatian league.

The Croat had previously topped Al-Ittihad’s wish-list in early January before appointing Oscar at the expense of German manager Sylvester Takac.
