AFC - Iran Olympic coach Mohammad Meilikohan is confident his side will make the improvements needed to make a real challenge during the qualifying stages. Iran will meet Maldives on April 12 at the Naghsh Jahan Stadium in Isfahan, the first round first-leg match of the Asian qualifiers for the 2004 Olympic Games. Thereafter, the winner of that tie will get the chance to play Uzbekistan in Round Two. Meilikohan is optimistic of a bright future for the youth side, citing his mistakes learnt from the past season as being invaluable. "I have always tried to live with the good and bad in life and last year was no exception," said Meilikohan. "I tried to learn from my mistakes in the 2002/2003 season and have vowed to not repeat them again. "I will continue to strive for success. "With the national team involved in various competitions, the league and cup matches going on, there was little choice but to plan the training sessions in stages." |
