Iran stands second in West Asian u-14 soccer event

IRNA - Iran finished runner-up in the West Asian Under-14 Soccer Championships ended in Oman on Thursday. On January 30, Iran that had defeated the Qatari side 2-1 in the preliminary round lost to the Arab side 3-1 in final in Sultan Qaboos Stadium.
Before the final, the two teams of Jordan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) fought for the third title. The UAE managed to win 2-1,finishing third.
In the semifinal, Iran walked over the Jordanian side as it won the semifinal 3-0. In another semifinal match, Qatar managed to beat the United Arab Emirates 2-0.
In the preliminary matches, Iran thrashed the Lebanese side 5-0, and tied with Iraq 2-2 and Qatar whitewashed Iraq 3-0 and clobbered Lebanon 12-0.
The UAE beat Jordan 2-0 and overcame Oman 2-1 and Jordan beat Oman
