IRNA - Five-times champions Iran here on Sunday trounced Indonesia 13-3 in the second leg of the sixth Asian Futsal Championships.
Iran had handed Hong Kong a heavy defeat of 15-0 in the previous match. But the top trophy favorites found it too hard to take the lead of the game when all their chances were denied by the superb Indonesian goalie.
However, the goalie`s luck was out in the 14th minute when the Lazio forward Vahid Shamsaei scored the opener. It was then that Indonesia went down in a massacre with Iran scoring one goal in every minute to the break.
Indonesia did manage to respond back only once when it scored a penalty in the 19th minute for Iran`s 5th bookable offense. The teams ended the first half 5-1.
But the second half started with Iran relentlessly continuing the attacks to score another 8 goals until the 17th minute of the half.
Indonesia`s responses came in the 13th and 18th minutes of the second half to finish the fiasco 13-3.
Iran will play Cambodia on Tuesday.
