PTV - Iran's national soccer team head coach says he will take part in the draw for the final round of the Asian World Cup qualifiers.

“I will personally participate in the 2010 World Cup draw in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia on June 27,” Ali Daei told reporters Friday.

The Iranian head coach said his team faces a difficult challenge to compete in the second round of the World Cup qualifiers with powerful teams in its group, including Saudi Arabia, Australia, Japan and South Korea.

Daei said he hoped the Iranian squad would qualify for the 2010 World Cup by holding several preparatory matches beforehand.

“Although Iran has qualified for the next round of the World Cup, we will try our best to get the three points in the match against Kuwait,” he said.

Iran currently leads Group 5 with 9 points, followed by the UAE with 8 points. Syria now stands third with 5 points while Kuwait is at the bottom of the group with 4 points.
