MNA - Persepolis was held to a 2-2 draw with a dubious penalty against Malavan of Bandar Anzali in Anzali’s Takhti Stadium on Sunday.

Rock-bottom Malavan scored the opener when unmarked Jalal Rafkhahi gave the team a lead in the 52nd minute. Alireza Nikbakht Vahedi cancelled out the goal five minutes later with a powerful shot into Malavan’s box.

Nikbakht scored twice in the 64th minute. He dribbled Malavan’s defender into the box and put the ball far from Masoud Gholamalizad’s hands.

Persepolis could have opened more goals in the second half, but the opportunities were carelessly wasted by their players.

A dubious penalty was shown by Referee Mohsen Ghahremany and Rafkhahi converted in the 78th minute.
