PLDC - The Iranian Football Federation has sent an official letter to FIFA praising Danish captain Morten Wieghorst for deliberately missing a penalty. During Saturday's friendly between the two sides in Hong Kong, the former Celtic midfielder deliberately put the spot-kick wide after an Iranian defender had picked up the ball after hearing a whistle from the crowd. Iran won 1-0 - thanks to a successful penalty attempt. |
