TEHRANTIMES - Yahya Golmohammadi has been appointed as head coach of Persepolis football team, according to the Iranian news agencies.

Manuel Jose fell slightly short of expectation in the first-half of the season and was replaced by Golmohammadi on Monday.

Persepolis board of directors will make the final decision on the Portuguese coach within the next 48 to 72 hours.

Golmohammadi, 41, joined Persepolis in September as the first assistant coach.

“Golmohammadi will work as the head coach of Persepolis under the guidance of veteran Ali Parvin in the team. It’s possible Manuel Jose will stay as head coach,” Persepolis general manager Mohammad Ruyanian said.

Persepolis is 12th in Iran professional League (IPL) standing table with 21 points after 17 games.
