PFDC - TEHRAN, Following the conclusion of IPL round 14, Carlos Queiroz announced an extended 28-man squad for the friendly match against Tajikistan (November 6) and the World Cup qualifier against Uzbekistan (November 14), both in Tehran's Azadi stadium.

Due to the absence of all foreign based players for the Tajikistan game, which will be held outside the FIFA calender, some more players have been invited.

A final list of 23 or 24 players for the Uzbekistan clash is expected to be released afterwards.

Noteable absentees are Maziar Zare, suspended Masoud Shojaei, injured Mojtaba Jabbari and Reza Haghighi as well as recovering Hadi Aghily. Also Rubin Kazan keeper Alireza Haghighi, who is lacking match praxis, has again been left out.

New faces in comparison to the extended list for the recent South Korea game are wingers Arash Afshin (pictured) and Yaghoub Karimi. Also the previously injured young defender Shoja Khalilzadeh returns.
