TMDC - Javad Kazemian was the star of Al
Ahli Club of Dubai , as his team maintained their top of the UAE league
position after defeating AL Ittihad of Kalbaa 3-1. The first goal was
scored by Al Ahli in the forst half with a perfect free kick taken by
Kazemian which left no hope for the Kalbaa goalkeeper.
The second half was a drab affair as Al Ahli was
too complacent with their game, with lots of careless passing and far too
much individualist play. Kalbaa took the game to Al Ahli and soon got
their reward after a free kick was fumbled by the Ahli GK. The rebound was
hit hard at the empty goal, where Ahmad Shah, Ahli defender deflected the
inbound shot by his hand. The Referee whistled for a penalty kick\k and
showed the Red-card for Al Ahli defender. This was the 2nd consecutive red
card for Al Ahli players in as many matches.
Kalbaa scored the equalizer through the penalty,
and Al Ahli was once again in an awkward situation, with 10 men. However,
it seems that the red devils of Dubai need these situations to show their
prowess. Kazemian got a beautiful ball in the penalty box, turned his
marker inside out, but the defender had no choice but to push him before
Kazemian could get clear. A Clear Penalty which was scored, and
subsequently towards the end of the match,. Faisal Khalil, Al Ahli
super-sub, scored the third to seal the fate of the match for al Al Ahli
after some good moves from the right flank.
While Kazemian was performing to the best of his
ability, with some darting runs and being instrumental in his team
victory, Karimi was on the other side of the performance scale. Karimi was
no where near his best today, with his insistence to dribble everyone in
front of him bordering the ridiculous. He lacked interest in this match
and he was frequently a pedestrian while everyone else was running around.
The coach pulled him back to the midfield after Al Ahli was down to 10
men, but even then he was not performing anything near his capacity.
Difficult case of a brilliant player who is an enigma and hard to predict,
except that he would dribble everyone in front of him.
