PLDC - Ronald Koch, Esteghlal of Tehran head coach, has not been the phenomenon which the club expected and has so far led the team poorly and has been unable to make a difference. At first he apparently thought about team tactics and improvement of quality. After the recent defeats suffered by the team and their standing in 7th place in the league table, he has to content with the stream of criticism coming his way.

In a recent press interview he commented about his team and (the 3rd week) 3-2 defeat by Sepahan of Isfahan, “The game with Sepahan was like all other matches and had three points. We only lost three points and
nothing else. We must think about the future and forget this defeat. Nobody specific is guilty. Everybody has a share in it just as they do in every victory.”

“We have problems with our defense lineup and we have to think of a proper solution for it. The boys must return to the goal area more quickly and attack faster too. In the defense lineup the players must cover
each other better and be more flexible. I now know everyone in the team and will attend to the players as required.”

“Esteghlal needs time to reach the ideal conditions and I assure you that you will soon see the real and powerful Esteghlal in the Professional League. Esteghlal is after the league championships and the players know that reaching the top is not easy but they’ll try and I am sure they’ll win.”

“I assure the Esteghlal fans that their team will be successful soon.”
