FootballAsia- Anyang LG Cheetahs captain Choi Yoon-yeol is determined that
his side will not be affected by what could be in excess of 100,000
Esteghlal fans cheering on the Tehran side at the intimidating Azadi
Stadium in Wednesday's Asian Club Championship semi-final.
Choi who was appointed skipper at the beginning of the current K-League
season said: "This is their home and we know the stadium will be packed
with very many Iranians but we will not let this put us off."
While Anyang are renowned for their attacking flair, Choi's main focus is
his central defensive duties as the 28-year-old knows that the Cheetahs'
back line will have to be on their toes to prevent an early goal.
"Esteghlal are a team with a good attacking system and have many strong
forwards so as a defender I will be leading my teammates to achieve our
main objective of not losing the first goal.
"All the players will do their best to win the championship and I am
satisfied that our level and condition is high enough to achieve this."
Meanwhile, Anyang head coach will have to make do without suspended
defender Park Jung-suk after the 25-year-old picked up consecutive
bookings in the Quarter-Finals East matches against Suwon Samsung
Bluewings and Kashima Antlers.
