Gulf News- Al Ahli defeated Al Nasr 5-2 in the First Division football league at Al Maktoum Stadium yesterday. The win was a sweet revenge for Al Ahi who failed to beat Al Nasr on five occasions during this season.

Al Ahli leapt to the sixth place with 18 points and Al Nasr dropped one place back to the seventh with 15 points. Al Ahli deserved to win the match and came up with a fine display during the 90 minutes.

Al Nasr were in a very poor condition especially the midfield line and the defence which was wide open infront of the Ahli attacks in the second session. Salim Khamis of Ahli sent an early warning to Al Nasr defenders in the sixth minute.  His shot however was cleared by Ali Saffar before it could cross the goalline.

After one minute Maher Kanzari's shot bounced off the Al Ahli keeper's hands and no one made the follow up. In 30th minute, Salim Khamis scored Ahli's first goal when his ground shot from close range beat Mohammed Ali in the Al Nasr goal.

Nasr tried to attack but without real danger against the Al Ahli goal.  Ahmed Bahja and Qazim were marked roughly by the Al Ahli defenders Mohammed Qassim, Jasim Akbar and Moshmoom.

Yousuf Mussa scored for Al Nasr but was ruled offside two minutes before the break. Yousuf Mussa compensated for that  disallowed goal by levelling the score for Al Nasr in the 50th minute.  Mohammed Ibrahim put him through and  Mussa's lob went straight to the top corner of the net.

Nasr bettered their performance in the first quarter of the second session. Qazim scored a goal in 59th minute but it was disallowed due to offside.

After three minutes Ali Karimi scored the second goal for Al Ahli when Faisal Khalil who entered one minute before passed to him and the Iranian ace's shot went to the left of Mohammed Ali. Al Ahli continued to attack taking advantage from the bad passing of Al Nasr midfielders and defenders.

Ahmed Shah scored the third goal with a powerful shot from 20 meters. Ahmed Bahja reduced the deficit after two minutes when Al Ahli custodian Ali Saeed made an error.

Bahja shot into an empty net. This goal was not enough for Al Nasr coach to keep Bahja. He took him out immediately after he scored and brought  in Issa Juma. Faisal Khalil scored the fourth goal for Ahli in the 76th minute.  The speedy Khalil went past Al Nasr defender Mohammed Khamis and scored.

Faisal Khalil again added the fifth goal in the 84th minute. Faisal went past the Al Nasr keeper and defender and slotted the ball to the left hand corner and ball hit the bottom of the post and went in.
