Tehran Times - German club Arminia Bielefeld are going to make a formal complaint against Iranian football teams Persepolis and Esteghlal over cancelation their friendly match at the Schüco Arena in July.

For the first time in history, Tehran derby was scheduled for July 22 in the stadium but was cancelled after Persepolis withdrew from the match due to Iran’s Super Cup match with Naft Tehran.

Originally this final was supposed to be rescheduled because of the match in Bielefeld, but the Iranian Football Federation cancelled this plan ultimately.

More than 200 football fans ordered tickets for the match. The club eventually refunded the money. Those who bought tickets online were contacted directly. Those who bought tickets at the shop or another reservation office were asked to refer to this sales office.

Now, the German club want to make formal complaint against the Iranian team to FIFA.

Arminia Bielefeld had reportedly announced their readiness to solve the problem peacefully but the clubs didn’t take that into consideration.

Arminia Bielefeld are seeking 400,000 euros (464,000 U.S. dollars) in compensation from two clubs for cancelation of the match.
